The AR-15 GEN-2 airsoft rifle replica by CYMA is an electric airsoft replica designed for short- and medium-range skirmishes. The construction uses a V2 GEN-2 gearbox, CYMA MOSFET and QSC quick spring change system, supporting smooth internal operation, trigger response and easier adjustment of the setup to different airsoft scenarios.

Construction and design

The AR-15 GEN-2 airsoft rifle replica is made from a combination of metal and plastic, helping maintain a good balance between durability and weight at ~2524 g without the magazine.

The rifle is equipped with a 10-inch KeyMod handguard that allows the installation of compatible accessories. The set includes three RIS panels: two with five slots and one with nine slots.

Foldable polymer iron sights are mounted on the top RIS rail. They can be folded down, making it easier to use red dot sights.

The external barrel features a 14 mm CCW thread, allowing the installation of compatible muzzle devices.

An individual serial number is placed on the left side of the receiver.

The SF-type stock offers six-position length adjustment and a removable rubberized buttpad that makes battery installation easier. The replica length is ~755 mm with the stock collapsed and ~845 mm with the stock fully extended.

Ergonomics and use

The control layout, based on the AR-15 firearm counterpart, supports intuitive handling during dynamic skirmishes and makes the replica easier to use at short and medium range.

The ambidextrous magazine release allows more convenient operation for both right- and left-handed users.

The function that locks the mock bolt in the rear position provides quick access to the Hop-Up chamber and makes BB trajectory adjustment much easier.

Internals and mechanics

The replica uses a V2 GEN-2 gearbox equipped with 8 mm ball bearings and 18:1 steel gears.

The QSC quick spring change system, operated through the stock guide, allows efficient spring replacement without disassembling the gearbox.

A High Torque motor is responsible for driving the mechanism.

The pneumatic system includes an aluminum cylinder head, steel cylinder and 21 mm Teflon nozzle.

The piston is equipped with a full steel teeth rack and aluminum piston head.

The metal rotary Hop-Up chamber allows precise adjustment of the BB trajectory.

Electronic system

CYMA MOSFET supports trigger response and operation of the electrical system, which is important during dynamic fire.
